This 10-day tour takes you along the legendary G318 Highway — China’s most beautiful scenic route. You will visit Litang (the “World’s High City”), stunning Ranwu Lake, magnificent Midui Glacier, the iconic Potala Palace, and sacred Jokhang Temple. It is a perfect mix of breathtaking nature, holy Tibetan culture, and unforgettable road trip views.
Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu – Free activities
Welcome to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province. We will arrange professional airport pick-up service according to your flight information and help you check in at the hotel. After that, you can arrange to visit downtown Chengdu on your own, such as Chunxi Road, Kuanzhai Alley, Taikoo Li and so on. Wish you a pleasant trip!
Day 2: Chengdu – Zheduo Mountain – Xinduqiao – Yajiang.
Set off for the Sichuan-Tibet region. On the way, we will pass through the Erlangshen Tunnel and arrive at Kangding, the capital of the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Then we will climb over the first high mountain, Zheduo Mountain, and reach Xinduqiao, the “Paradise for Photographers”. The beautiful western Sichuan Plateau is waiting for everyone’s arrival. Finally, we will arrive at Yajiang and check in at the hotel.
Day 3:Tianlu 18 Bends – Litang -Letong Ancient Town – The entrance of Cuopu Valley.
Cross the 18 Bends of the Heavenly Road, spiraling above the vast Sichuan-Tibet Plateau, presenting a magnificent and majestic view. Arrive at Letong Ancient Town, which is the largest traditional Tibetan tribal community in the world. Stroll around it to experience the ancient and primitive Tibetan cultural charm and the unrestrained boldness of the Khampa men. Keep moving forward, and along the way, you can admire the ancient glacier site, Haizi Mountain, and the boundless Maoya Prairie. Finally, reach the entrance of Cuopu Valley.
Day 4: Cuopu Valley – Markam.
Encounter the most beautiful National Highway 318 and meet the beautiful Pucuo Valley on the plateau. Here, the beautiful scenery integrating various elements such as snow-capped mountains, grasslands, forests and lakes is sure to make you linger and marvel. Visit the Rekeng Hot Spring Group, where the temperature remains above 85 °C all year round, and you can taste the unique hot spring eggs here! Head to the Zhangde Prairie dotted with wildflowers, which stretches as far as the eye can see and makes you feel relaxed and happy.
Day 5: Markam – Dongda Mountain – 72 Turns on the Heavenly Road – Baxoi.
After crossing the Lawu Mountain, you can see the lofty and majestic Dongda Mountain standing in the distance. Arrive at Bangda Town, where the surrounding grasslands and the town itself seem to merge with the sky at the horizon, presenting a beautiful landscape. Head to the 72 Turns on the Heavenly Road to experience the unique thrills of the Tibet region. Along the way, you can also admire the beautiful terraced fields on the plateau. Finally, cross the Nujiang River and arrive at Baxoi.
Day 6: Baxoi – Ranwu Lake – Midui Glacier – Bomi
Visit the famous Ranwu Lake on the plateau, which is a glacial lake. The lake water reflects the snow-capped mountains like a bright mirror. Then head to the Midui Glacier. Under the sunshine, it shines with a strange light, and the scenery is magically charming. There are also vast forests and villages around it, making you hardly believe that you are on the snow-covered plateau.
Day 7: Bomi – Lulang – Tibetan Villages – Sejila Mountain – Nyingchi.
Pass by Guxiang Lake. The blue lake water shines brightly under the sunlight. Arrive at Lulang Town and experience the paradise-like place surrounded by snow-capped mountains and vast forests. Head to Tibetan villages, taste Tibetan specialty foods such as buttered tea and tsampa, and appreciate the hospitality of the Tibetan people. Climb over Sejila Mountain and look out at the distant Namcha Barwa Peak
Day 8: Nyingchi – Basong Co – Lhasa.
Set off from Nyingchi, known as the “Jiangnan (the south of the Yangtze River) of Tibet”. Head to Basong Co, the largest barrier lake in eastern Tibet. It is shaped like a crescent moon in the night sky, looking romantic and gentle. The snowcapped peaks of the surrounding high mountains never melt throughout the year, and the scenery in all four seasons has its own unique features. Climb onto the island in the middle of the lake, where the Cuo Zong Gongba Temple, a building from the Tang Dynasty, is quietly telling its history.
Day 9: Potala Palace – Jokhang Temple – Barkhor Street
Visit the Potala Palace, the palace and castle with the highest altitude in the world. It is built against the mountain, looking gentle and serene, and shines with charming golden light under the morning sunlight. Then head to the Jokhang Temple. There is a saying that “Lhasa City came into being after the Jokhang Temple”, which occupies an important place in the hearts of the Tibetan people. Stroll along the Barkhor Street and experience the ancient circumambulation ceremony.
Day 10: Lhasa – Return trip
