Useful Travel Tips for International Visitors

 

1.Most local food is spicy. If you do NOT eat spicy, please tell your guide or restaurant clearly in advance.

2.Many street snacks and dishes include Zheergen (Fish Mint). If you do not like its special taste, you can say “No zhe’ergen”.

3.The best travel seasons are March–June and September–November, with mild and comfortable weather.

4.The climate is humid and mild. Summer is hot, winter temperature usually remains above zero degrees, but with less sunlight and more humidity and wind, it is still necessary to wear warm clothes.

5.Subway and taxis are convenient in the city. Most hotels and major scenic spots provide basic English service.

6.Chengdu is very safe and friendly for tourists. Local people are welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxing.
