Xi'an

Basic Overview

Shanxi Province lies in the inland hinterland of China and the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It is a major birthplace of Chinese civilization and served as the capital for more than ten dynasties in history. Its capital Xi’an is an ancient capital of thirteen dynasties and the start of the ancient Silk Road. The province consists of the Loess Plateau in the north, Guanzhong Plain in the center, and Qinling-Bashan Mountains in the south, featuring profound history, magnificent landscapes and rich folk culture.

Natural Landscapes

Shaanxi boasts diverse natural landscapes. The Qinling Mountains traverse the province as the climatic dividing line between northern and southern China. The northern Loess Plateau is vast and rough, while southern Shaanxi is mild and green. It features famous mountains, waterfalls, canyons and grasslands with four distinct seasons.

1.Mount Hua:

One of the Five Great Mountains, famous for its steep cliffs and thrilling trails. Its sunrise, sea of clouds and sunset glow are spectacular.

2.Mount Taibai:

The highest peak of the Qinling Mountains (3,771m), with obvious vertical climate zones, allowing visitors to experience four seasons in one day.
