Itinerary Day by Day

Tibet（8 Days）

Day 1 : Arrival in Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa (Sunlight City). Our guide meets you at the airport/train station with a traditional white Hada. Transfer to a 4-star hotel to rest and acclimatize to the altitude (3,650m). No intense activities today—drink water, keep warm, and do not shower on the first night.

Day 2 : Lhasa City Tour

After breakfast, visit Potala Palace (UNESCO World Heritage). Take photos at Medicine King Hill (50-Yuan note viewpoint). After lunch, visit Jokhang Temple (the most sacred temple in Xizang). Walk with pilgrims on Barkhor Street to experience local culture.

Day 3 : Lhasa → Basongcuo Lake → Nyingchi

Drive through the Mila Mountain Tunnel to Basongcuo Lake (5A scenic area). It is a famous sacred lake of the Nyingma sect, surrounded by snow mountains, forests, and villages—known as “Little Switzerland”. Enjoy fresh air and stunning lake views. Continue to Nyingchi and check into hotel.

Day 4 : Nyingchi → Sejila Mountain → Lulang Forest → Giant Cypress

Cross Sejila Pass (4,728m) — if weather permits, you will see Namcha Barwa (one of China’s most beautiful peaks). Visit Lulang Forest (endless virgin forest), Alpine Pasture (yaks and sheep), and Giant Cypress King Park (3,200-year-old cypress trees). Return to Nyingchi.

Day 5 : Nyingchi → Kading Gully → Lhasa

Visit Kading Gully — lush forest, ancient trees, and a 200m-high waterfall with a natural Buddha shape in the cliff. Drive back to Lhasa via the Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway. Free and easy in Lhasa in the evening.

Day 6 : Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Shigatse

Cross Kamba La Pass to Yamdrok Lake (one of Xizang’s three holy lakes) — turquoise water, snow mountains, 675 km². Visit Karola Glacier (one of Xizang’s three major continental glaciers). Explore Palcho Monastery (unique pagoda-temple complex). Arrive in Shigatse.

Day 7 : Shigatse → Tashilhunpo Monastery → Lhasa + Show

Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery (one of Xizang’s six great Gelug monasteries, seat of Panchen Lama). Drive back to Lhasa. In the evening, watch the grand outdoor show Princess Wencheng (800 performers). If winter show is closed, replace with Traditional Tibetan Bathing.

Day 8 : Departure from Lhasa

Breakfast at hotel. Our guide and driver transfer you to Lhasa airport or train station. The wonderful 8-day Xizang journey ends successfully. Please double-check your belongings before departure.
