Itinerary Day by Day

Tibet (6 Days)

Day 1 : Arrival in Lhasa

Arrive at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or Railway Station. Our professional guide will warmly welcome you with a traditional white Hada, then transfer you to the downtown hotel. Today is for full rest to adapt to the high altitude of 3,650 meters. Please avoid intense exercise, drink plenty of water, keep warm, and do not shower or wash hair on the first night to prevent altitude sickness.

Day 2 : Lhasa City Tour

After breakfast, visit the Potala Palace — UNESCO World Heritage Site, the spiritual landmark of Xizang built in the 7th century. Take classic photos at Medicine King Hill Platform, the famous 50-Yuan banknote viewpoint. Then explore Jokhang Temple, the most sacred Tibetan Buddhist temple housing the 12-year-old statue of Sakyamuni. Stroll along Barkhor Street with pilgrims, experiencing the thousand-year-old prayer tradition and authentic Tibetan life.

Day 3 : Lhasa → Namtso Lake

After breakfast, drive along the Beijing-Tibet Highway via Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains — the legendary holy mountain paired with Namtso Lake. Arrive at Namtso Lake, the third largest saltwater lake in China, known as “Heavenly Lake” with an altitude of 4,718 meters. Walk around Tashi Peninsula, enjoy the vast, crystal-blue lake and snow-capped mountain views. On the return trip, stop at Nagenla Pass (5,190m) for a panoramic view of Namtso and receive a high-altitude challenge certificate.

Day 4 :Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Shigatse

After breakfast, cross Kamba La Pass (4,998m) to Yamdrok Lake — one of Xizang’s three holy lakes, with turquoise water stretching 675 km². Enjoy the stunning snow mountain and lake views. Continue to Karola Glacier, one of Xizang’s three major continental glaciers. Visit Palcho Monastery in Gyantse, a unique temple with a famous multi-story stupa. In the evening, arrive at Shigatse, the political center of Western Xizang.

Day 5 :Shigatse → Tashilhunpo Monastery → Lhasa

After breakfast, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery — one of the six great Gelug monasteries of Xizang, the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas. Admire its magnificent architecture, precious relics, and profound religious culture. After lunch, drive back to Lhasa via National Highway 318. In the evening, watch the grand outdoor show Princess Wencheng, which tells the legendary historical story of the Tang Dynasty princess over 1,300 years ago.

Day 6 : Departure from Lhasa

After breakfast, our guide and driver will transfer you to Lhasa Airport or Railway Station according to your schedule. Please double-check all your belongings before departure. This unforgettable soul journey to the Roof of the World comes to a perfect end.
